Natural Forms

‘Natural Forms’ is the first unit of the GCSE course. In this topic students will learn how to take successful photographs using both manual film and digital processes. This will lead to the production of a body of work contained in a sketchbook and exhibition grade final pieces. Click here to download the overview sheet for this unit (students are given a copy of this in class).

By the end of this unit it is expected that all students will: take their own photographs; know the basics of both darkroom and digital printing/processing; have produced a sketchbook of supporting work and 1 final piece.

Most students will: use experimental processes in their own photographic investigations and produce a darkroom and a digital final piece.

Some learners will have progressed further and will: be able to use the full capability of the darkroom and the manual cameras to produce darkroom prints of exceptional quality.

Key Assessments
